Ashvagandha – Withania somnifer: (Linn.) Dunal: In Ayurvedic system of medicine Ashvagandha is classified as ‘Rasayána’ herb. It is used in Ayurvedic formulations for skin diseases, detoxification and wridary diseases of both the sex.

It is widely used in Ayurveda in formulations meant for indigestion, constipation, cardiac wealness, disorders of female genital organs and infertility in bot the sexes.

Gokshur- Tribulus terrestris Linn: Gokbru is used mainly in Ayurvedic fonmulations for ‘Vata’ disorders, cough, general debility, kidney stones, urinary disorders, piles and constipation. It is indicated in Ayurveda for weakness due to aging, cardiac protection, inflammatory disorders, neurological weakhess, indigestion and female disorders like threatened abortion and uterine support.

Giloe – Tinospora cordifolta (Willd.) Miers er Hook: This is the most commonly used herb of Ayurveda. It is a ‘Rasayana’ and has excelient immuno-modulating properties. It is widely used in Ayurvedic formulations for general debility, detoxification, chronic fever, Chronic cough, diabetes, oligospermia, chronic skin diseases and allergic disorders. Madhuyashti – Glycyrrhiza glabra Lian: Yashtimadhu or Liquorice is mainly used in Ayurvedic formulations for Respiratory disorders like minor to chronic coughs, sore throat, Breathing difficulty and gastric disorders like nausea, vomiting, excessive thirst, abdominal distension, hyper acidity and peptic ulcer.

Maduyashti is a popular ingredient of Hair oils meant for falling, thinning and premature graying of hair. Karela – Momordia charantia Linn: Bitter gourd or Karela is used in Ayurveda for various applications ranging from blood purification to liver care and diabetes.
